Your recalculation notice names the numbers that actually changed
One verdict on your power curve, not two that disagree
The residual chart shows only the efforts your curve was built from
All Changes
When your Critical Power or W' is recalculated, the notice now reports the values you were actually looking at before, taken from the change itself. It used to read a separate record that was not always updated, so a day your numbers went down could be announced as a rise, and a W' that grew could be reported as a drop.
The power curve page could show two quality assessments that disagreed about the same curve. There is now one, built on the measure the model's own research defines. When it holds back, it tells you which signal is loose and what would settle it, instead of leaving you to reconcile a green verdict with an amber warning.
Efforts the model set aside, such as paced rides and power-meter spikes, were drawn on the residual chart as though their distance from the curve was model error. The chart now plots only the efforts the fit actually used, and the ones it excluded are listed separately with the reason.
2.55.0-beta2026-09-01
Highlights
See how much you climb each week
Climbing insights now open the right chart
All Changes
A new weekly climbing chart on the Trends page shows your metres per week against your recent average, per sport. Weeks where no ride recorded elevation are marked as missing data rather than shown as zero.
The climbing insight on your dashboard now links straight to that chart and scrolls to it, instead of leaving you to find it.
2.54.0-beta2026-09-01
Highlights
Improved sync reliability when you edit an activity on Strava
All Changes
Editing an activity on Strava right after Gradescale finished syncing it could occasionally be missed. Those edits are now automatically retried, so a correction you make on Strava reliably makes it into your data.
2.53.0-beta2026-08-26
Highlights
Correct an activity's sport, and it stays corrected
Quiet hours follow your own time zone
Your data export says so when something is missing
All Changes
If an activity arrives as the wrong sport, you can change it and the change now sticks. Until now the next sync could quietly put it back, which also meant your sport-specific training load was being built from the wrong sport. Your correction is remembered and syncs leave it alone.
Notification quiet hours were applied in UTC rather than where you actually are, so quiet hours set from 22:00 could begin hours early or late. The app now sends your time zone, and quiet hours mean what they say.
A data export that cannot include everything now tells you which parts were left out, instead of finishing quietly and looking complete. Photos and attachments past the size limit are named rather than silently dropped.
The sign-in screen used to say your data never leaves your device. That was not accurate: your activities are stored on our servers so the app works across your phone and the web. The wording now describes what actually happens, and you can still export or delete everything whenever you want.
2.52.0-beta2026-08-25
Highlights
Signing in with an email and password works again
Your build blocks now reach your guidance
Coaches stay on the athlete they opened
All Changes
Creating an account, signing in with an email and password, and resetting a password all failed for five days. They work again. Your existing password is unchanged, so there is nothing to reset. Signing in with Strava was never affected.
If your annual plan puts you in a build block, the app now reads it as one. Guidance that only makes sense while you are building can finally appear, including the note that deep fatigue during a build is the point rather than a reason to back off. Base blocks were always read correctly; build ones were not.
Opening a chart from an athlete's page used to quietly return you to your own analytics, so you saw your own numbers, or an empty chart, while believing you were looking at theirs. You now stay on the athlete you opened.
The app is no longer briefly unavailable while an update goes out. Signing in or loading your data during a release could fail for a minute or two; that pause is gone.
2.51.0-beta2026-08-18
Highlights
Your Critical Power stays the same whichever time range you view
Rides you paced no longer drag your power curve down
Your anaerobic capacity should read higher, and the warning about it should stop
All Changes
Critical Power used to move by up to 38 W depending on whether you looked at the last six weeks, six months or a year. The same underlying calculation now returns the same number across all of them, so a change you see is a change in your riding rather than in the window you picked.
A long ride you paced is not a maximal effort, and treating it as one pulled your curve down. Those rides are now identified and left out, and the app names each one so you can see what it set aside. Your Critical Power can now read higher than one of them, which is the point.
Because the curve is fitted to your best efforts rather than averaged through them, your anaerobic capacity comes out larger. If you were seeing a note that your capacity disagreed with one of your own rides, it should be gone, because it is no longer true.
Your training zones and Load Score are calculated from Critical Power, so both shift with it. Compare figures from this release onward rather than against older ones. Where your Critical Power rests on only a few genuinely maximal efforts, the app now says so and suggests the single test that would sharpen it most.
2.50.0-beta2026-08-13
Highlights
W′ balance that stops claiming the impossible
Your anaerobic capacity is checked against your own rides
Your Matches Burned count will look lower, and that is expected
All Changes
Your W′ now recovers throughout a ride rather than only when you drop below threshold, which is what the published model actually prescribes. On hard interval sessions the curve no longer runs off the bottom of the chart claiming you spent more than you had.
If your modelled anaerobic capacity comes out smaller than an effort you have already completed, we raise it to what you actually did and label it. Across a recent block of rides, the two changes together took the number of physically impossible sessions from roughly two in three down to one.
A match is counted against your anaerobic capacity, so a bigger capacity means an effort has to be bigger to count as one. Because both changes above raise that capacity, the same rides now show about a third fewer matches than before. Nothing about your riding changed, only the yardstick. Compare match counts from this release onward rather than against your older rides.
2.49.0-beta2026-08-13
Highlights
A sharper Critical Power, and a heads-up when it moves
Ranges that mean something
All Changes
Your power-duration model now fits your whole curve at once, from sprints to long climbs, instead of stitching three separate pieces together. If that shifts your Critical Power, you get a one-time note naming the old and the new number.
The range shown beside Critical Power, W′ and mFTP is now measured with the same model that produced the number. Where there is not enough riding to measure one yet, we say so rather than showing something that looks like a measurement.
Set your Critical Power by hand and it stays put. The model will not overwrite a value you chose yourself.
2.48.0-beta2026-08-11
Highlights
Power trends back on the analytics page
Lap numbers that match reality
All Changes
The Critical Power trends chart on the power analytics page now draws a real series with CP, W′ and mFTP changes, instead of a single date.
Laps are numbered correctly everywhere. A single-lap ride no longer shows “lap 2”, and the lap chips match the lap table.
Suunto activities show their source badge, and the language you pick on the waitlist page now sticks.
2.47.0-beta2026-08-11
Highlights
Calendar week views
Training days you can read at a glance
All Changes
Switch the planning calendar between week, 2-week and month layouts. Your choice sticks, and week views open on the current week.
Day cells now show each session’s distance, time and power or pace, with names that wrap instead of cutting off.
Planned sessions from past days show whether they were completed, partial or missed, with a legend explaining the colors.
2.46.0-beta2026-08-11
Highlights
Workout templates now do exactly what their descriptions say
The workout picker is searchable, and every name is readable
All Changes
An audit of all 175 templates found 43 whose programmed steps drifted from their descriptions: wrong total durations, missing interval blocks, and intensities riding harder than advertised. Every one now matches its cited protocol, including Rønnestad 30/15 with all three blocks.
The template picker gained a search box, names and descriptions wrap instead of cutting off, and library folders finally work: you can move workouts into them.
Workout builder: steps can now be shorter than a minute (30/15-style intervals), and any step can be duplicated in place.
Insights show four cards with a daily rotation, and 'Show more' reveals at most eight instead of the entire list.
2.45.0-beta2026-08-11
Highlights
The readiness adapt button now only appears when it can actually help
Email sign-in and confirmation links are reliable again
All Changes
Pressing “Adapt today's workout” could do nothing, or claim success without changing anything. It now only shows when today's plan can be adjusted at your readiness level, names the session it adjusted, and never touches targets you didn't set.
Waitlist confirmation links can now be clicked more than once. A second click shows “already confirmed” instead of an error.
Signing in with email and password could fail unexpectedly. That's fixed.
2.44.0-beta2026-08-11
Highlights
Total elevation is back in your all-time, yearly and 4-week stats
Threshold heart-rate monitoring now counts every recent activity, runs included
All Changes
The stats page showed 0 m of climbing in every window even when hours and distance were correct. Elevation now comes straight from your recorded activities.
Heart-rate drift detection only counted long power-meter rides, so it could stay locked despite plenty of recent training. It now opens at 5 recent activities per sport, and coaches see the athlete's thresholds rather than their own.
2.43.1-beta2026-08-05
Highlights
Recent rides and runs that were missing from your power curve are back in it
The weekly summary now says which week it is showing
All Changes
Some activities synced without their best efforts recorded, so new personal bests could be left out of the power-duration curve and the numbers derived from it. New activities are handled correctly, and existing ones are repaired automatically.
Running power from a footpod now stays with your running data instead of mixing into cycling power.
2.43.0-beta2026-08-04
Highlights
Signing up with email now starts your 30-day trial right away, same as connecting with Strava
Your training metrics now agree with each other everywhere: one formula per metric, on every page
All Changes
Aerobic decoupling for runs is now grade-adjusted, so a hilly return leg no longer reads as fading when it was just the climb.
Exploring different time windows in the power-duration analysis no longer changes the Critical Power the rest of the app uses.
Dashboard load cards now say when they cover all sports, and the per-sport workload ratio has a clearer name.
COROS shows its connection status in Settings, and the sync screen lists which services your activities come from.
2.42.0-beta2026-08-04
Highlights
Charts now look right in dark mode: the Load Balance zone bands blend in instead of glowing
The guided tour reliably highlights your stats, even on a brand-new account
All Changes
The Load Balance chart's training-zone bands and face labels now follow your theme, so the chart stays readable in both light and dark mode.
The dashboard tour now always finds your stats panel, including right after your first sign-in before any activities have synced.
2.41.0-beta2026-07-28
Highlights
A new feedback page: tell Thomas what is working, what is confusing, and what is missing
Beta invites got smarter: real expiry, a friendly reminder, and easy re-invites
All Changes
Share structured feedback on the new feedback page: a quick rating, which features you use, and free text for anything confusing or missing. It lands directly with Thomas.
Invite links now genuinely expire after 7 days, you'll get one friendly nudge before they do, and a fresh link is one click away if yours lapses.
After you join, two short check-in notes from Thomas arrive during your first ten days. Reply directly or use the feedback page.
2.40.0-beta2026-07-28
Highlights
Everything is free during the closed beta — every feature is unlocked for invited athletes, with no payments collected
New privacy controls: log out of every device at once
All Changes
While Gradescale is in closed beta, all features are open to every invited athlete and paid subscriptions are switched off entirely.
A new "Log out everywhere" button in Settings signs you out of every device and browser at once — useful if a device goes missing.
We clarified training-load wording throughout the app so your metrics read the same everywhere.
2.39.0-beta2026-07-23
Highlights
See the weather from every ride and run: temperature, wind, and humidity, pulled from the actual day you trained
New wind and aerodynamics breakdown for outdoor rides, using the real air density from that day to estimate your drag
All Changes
Every outdoor activity now shows the conditions at the start: temperature, wind speed and direction, and humidity, so you can see exactly what you trained through.
Cycling rides get a new aerodynamics section that uses the day's real air density to estimate your drag and split your power between air resistance and rolling resistance, with an honest confidence note.
You stay in control: weather uses only a rough location, you can turn it off any time in Settings, and every screen credits Open-Meteo.
2.38.0-beta2026-07-23
Highlights
Wahoo workouts now arrive with full power, heart-rate, cadence and GPS detail the moment they finish — no Strava link needed
All Changes
When the same workout reaches us from more than one connected service, we now keep whichever copy carries the richest data.
If a workout file can't be fetched right away, we quietly retry over the following days until the detail arrives.
2.37.0-beta2026-07-23
Highlights
Your records now look at your whole history: best-pace analysis defaults to all time, and every chart says exactly which date range it shows
You decide what counts as a race: mark or unmark any workout, filter your list to races only, and get the same deep effort analysis on hard training days too
All Changes
The running pace curve is now built from the same precise per-second data as your peak pace cards, so the two always agree.
Marking a workout as a race (or not) now syncs to your account, so it sticks across devices and your coach sees the same thing.
Background sync got quieter: the app only shows sync progress when there is actually something new, instead of a banner on every visit.
Coach view: the roster risk chip and the athlete detail page now compute training-load risk the same way, and each label says which metric it shows.
Duplicate detection between your connected devices and Strava got smarter, so the copy with the richest data wins.
2.36.0-beta2026-07-22
Highlights
Your dashboard is calmer: the four most useful insights lead each day and rotate fairly, and deeper analytics stay tucked away until you want them
Workout charts are more hands-on: drag right on the elevation profile to zoom into a climb, then send your selection straight to segment comparison
All Changes
Week-over-week comparisons now always line up two complete weeks, so a Monday check-in no longer looks like a training drop just because this week isn't finished yet.
The dashboard now leads with your check-in, morning briefing, and today's suggestion, and the full analytics section stays collapsed until you open it.
Daily insights keep the four most relevant cards and rotate evenly, so no single insight gets stuck waiting days to reappear.
On a workout, segment comparison now sits right beneath the charts with a clear add button, the interval list starts collapsed, and you can drag directly on the elevation profile to focus on any section.
2.35.0-beta2026-07-14
Highlights
Coaches now see the same complete picture you do: full dashboard insights, calendar tools, and in-depth workout analysis for every connected athlete
The coach workout view gained route maps, pace analysis, effort matches, and more than 25 additional charts
All Changes
The coach dashboard now mirrors the athlete view: morning briefing, training suggestions, insight cards, weekly summaries, trend analysis, and race predictions.
The coach calendar gained the full planning toolkit: athlete journal entries, a plan library with one-click apply, plan comparison and editing, plan regeneration, and a weekly adaptation banner.
Fixed an issue where coach pace analytics could show the wrong athlete's records.
Recent breakthroughs in the coach view now show activity names and compare against a wider training window.
2.34.0-beta2026-07-08
Highlights
Drag workout blocks straight onto your timeline in the workout builder
All Changes
Building a workout is more hands-on: drag warm-ups, intervals, and zone blocks onto your workout and drop them exactly where you want. Adding with a click still works everywhere.
The same builder powers both your own calendar and the coach view, so the improvement shows up wherever you plan.
2.33.0-beta2026-07-08
Highlights

2.31.0-beta2026-07-07
Highlights
A new plan builder: drag workouts from your library straight onto training days
All Changes
The plan builder now shows your workout library and templates in a side panel. Drag any workout onto a day to schedule it, with search and your folders built in.
Days can now hold more than one session: stack a morning ride with an evening recovery spin or a mindfulness session.
Adding a workout to a day never overwrites what is already there, and each session can be removed on its own.
2.30.0-beta2026-07-07
Highlights
Coaches: see each athlete's readiness and weekly load balance at a glance on your roster
Coaches: get an email when an athlete completes a workout or updates a training threshold

Your full history now loads steadily in the background, with a progress estimate during your first sync.
The same workout from two connected platforms now shows up only once.
2.27.0-beta2026-06-30
Highlights
Sharper training calculations across race predictions, fueling, and swim efficiency
New onboarding check-ins about a week and a month after you connect
All Changes
Race-time predictions now fit your critical speed from short, hard efforts for a tighter estimate.
Fueling plans size your bottles from the actual drink mix, and swim SWOLF is normalized per pool length so it reads the same across pools.
Calorie targets now hold up through very high training weeks, and critical pace and velocity wait for cleaner data before estimating.
Friendly check-in emails arrive about a week and a month after you connect, pointing you to what your data is starting to show.

Highlights
Create intervals that end when you press the lap button — great for hill reps

Build a step that runs until you press the lap button instead of for a fixed time. Perfect for hill repeats: hold your effort up the climb, then recover all the way back down and tap lap to start the next rep. Toggle 'Until lap press' on any step, or 'Recover until lap press' on an interval, and the open step exports cleanly to your Garmin, Wahoo, or Hammerhead in FIT format.

Export any planned workout to your device in two taps: FIT, ZWO, or MRC
All Changes
Send a planned session straight to your head unit or indoor app without opening the editor. Highlights
Tours that actually finish — even on a fresh account or mid-chain side-trips
All Changes
Earlier the dashboard, sync, and annual-plan walkthroughs sometimes fell back to a centered overlay or quietly stopped after a manual help-button detour. Fresh accounts with zero activities, sync steps that needed a Settings tab flip, and the annual-plan race-list step all now resolve cleanly, and a help-button tour during the welcome chain no longer cancels the chain.
2.6.0-beta2026-04-28
Highlights
Cleaner confirmation when you delete a full week from the calendar
All Changes
Deleting an entire week of workouts from the calendar now uses Gradescale's themed confirmation dialog instead of the browser's stock prompt — clearer copy, keyboard-friendly, and matches the rest of the app.
